The Honorable Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Meets with the Head of UNDP
The Honorable Hajj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, met this morning in his office with Mr. Stephen Rodrickes, Head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Mr. Stephen Rodrickes briefed the Honorable Minister on the projects and activities of UNDP in Afghanistan and added that it is important for them that the people of Afghanistan design and propose the projects they need so that employment opportunities can be created for the people.
He further added that they are making efforts, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, to expand and sustain development projects.
Later, the Honorable Hajj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, while welcoming the Head of UNDP in Afghanistan and his delegation, expressed appreciation for their continued cooperation with the Afghan people.
He emphasized that projects should be implemented in the remote areas of the country where they are most needed and assured that the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development will always cooperate with them in the implementation of basic infrastructure projects.
At the end of the meeting, both sides emphasized their continued cooperation and coordination.
