Drinking water provided for roughly 13,500 families in March 2019

During the month of March 2019, the National Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Irrigation Program (Ru-WatSIP) of The Rural Rehabilitation and Development Ministry (MRRD) has completed 61 water supply projects in 15 provinces.( Baghlan , Parwan , Takhar , Kapisa , Hilmand . Daikundy, Panjshear , Jawzjan , Khust , Nangarhar  , Herat  , Kandhar , Ghor, Badghiz )

These projects included 18 water supply networks, Construction of 17 water reservoirs, 2700 meters irrigation Canal, digging of 58 deep water wells, Conversion of three diesel-powered water supply networks into solar-ran system and rehabilitation of three water reservoirs for Internally Displaced villagers.

The total cost of these projects was more than 158 million AFN that by the implementation of them, 13470 families got access to potable water.

Apart of this, in the course of March 2019, the Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion (SHP) unit built as many as 186 latrines  in Badghis, Helmand, Bamyan, Daykundi, Paktika, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Ghor and Nangarhar provinces.
