The Acting Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development met with the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations in Afghanistan and accompanying delegation
The Acting Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, met today with the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations in Afghanistan, Indrika Ratwette, and accompanying delegation.
At the beginning of the visit, the deputy representative of the United Nations in Afghanistan shared his activities with the Minister and stated that the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development is an important sectoral ministry that plays a crucial role in implementing projects in rural areas,and we have plans instead of humanitarian aid to support and implement development projects.
Also, Mr.Indrika Ratwette expressed gratitude to the ministry for its cooperation in significant projects, especially in the field of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and mentioned that we have plans to implement additional water supply projects in collaboration with this ministry.
After that, the Acting Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, welcomed the guests and emphasized that the implementation of development projects is crucial than humanitarian aid and should be prioritized. He further emphasized on implementing of basic projects, and during the implementation, it is essential to take into consideration the priorities of the people.
Also, Mr. Minister added during his speech that it is our responsibility to carry out projects transparently and with high quality, ensuring that citizens can benefit from them.
At the end of the meeting, both sides emphasized of continuous cooperation.
