The implementation of (3) check dams and alternative projects, with cost of more than 40 million Afghanis, has commenced in Paktia province. The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development initiated these projects, which were inaugurated today through a series of ceremonies,
Acting Minister Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhndazada, along with delegation, commenced the work.
In this meeting, Acting Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, the delegation, Maulavi Mehrullah Hamid, the Governor of Paktia Province, Mufti Obaidullah Haqqani, the head of the Appellate Court of this province, the head of the Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of Paktia Province, Maulavi Mirza Jan Sadiq, Mufti Amanullah Sahib, the representative of the Ulama Council of the said province, the Ulama of the religion, and young people participated.
During the implementation of these check dams and projects, hundreds of workers in the area will be provided employment opportunities, and these check Dams will retain rainwater, and maintain the groundwater level.
