5 Check dams are being built in Nimroz province by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.

The Ministry of Rural rehabilitation and Development is constructing 5 check dams in Nimroz province with a cost of 15 millions afghanis.

Out of these Today, on Saturday the construction of 2 check dams was initiated by the acting Minister Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada and delegation.

In this meeting, the Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah

Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, Deputy governor of Nimroz Alhaj Mavlavi Abdul qayoom Rohani, the provincial police chief Haji Sardar Ayoubi,a number of provincial officials, director of rural rehabilitation and development of Herat Mualavi Abdul Salaam Hejrat, director of rural rehabilitation and development of Helmand Mullah Mahmmod Sani, director of rural rehabilitation and development of Nimroz Mullah Muhammad Haq Bashir, along with local scholars and young people, participated.

The construction of these check Dams will provide employment to hundreds of laborers in region.

These check Dams will retain rainwater, and maintain the groundwater level.
