The foundation stone for a prayer niche (mihrab) of a grand mosque was laid in the courtyard of the Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Jowzjan Province

The foundation stone of this sacred mosque was laid by the Honorable Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Younus Akhundzada, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development; Mawlawi Sharafuddin Muslim, Deputy Minister for Planning and Policy of the Ministry; their accompanying delegation; and Mawlawi Asadullah Hamza, Head of the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Directorate of Jowzjan Province.

It is planned that this grand mosque will be constructed at a cost of approximately one million Afghanis and will have the capacity to accommodate about 100 worshippers at one time.
