Greater Projects lesser Poverty

 

Kabul (Thursday, May 15, 2008):

1,813 families in Shakardara, Kalakan and Guldara districts of Kabul benefited 7 National Solidarity Programme NSP lead projects while 747 others will be provided with water intakes, water passage, retaining wall and siphons at Janikhil district of Paktia in next three months.

The completed projects at Shakardara, Kalakan and Guldarah include drinking water wells, rural road, social centers and power projects worth US$170,261(Afs8,479,015) come from Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation & Development MRRD’s budget and implemented through National Solidarity Programmes NSP.

 Malim Ghulam Ghaus, one of the Guldara inhabitants, whose house is recently been enlightened by a hydro power project in their village of Noman, express his feelings as follows: “electrification was what the villagers most thinking of, fortunately, the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) brought our dream to reality, all the houses in Noman and Guldarah villages are enlightened. The electricity not only boos the families’ economy but the children can study and the villagers watch television to keep themselves updated with current national and world affairs”. >>> Read more

55 uplift Projects Inaugurate in Maidanwardak, Logar and Badakhshan

Kabul(Thursday, 10 April 2008):

with the completion of 55 development projects of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) in Maidawardak, Logar and Badakhshan provinces, 3,682 rural families are provided with wide arrays of various facilities.

49 completed power projects in Chak district of Maidanwardak totaling US$966,000 (AFs48300000) funded by MRRD are implemented through National Solidarity Programme (NSP), which helped 3,012 rural families to benefit electricity.

Furthermore, the implementation of 7 projects in Khoshi district of Logar and 2 others in Faizabad, the capital city of Badakhshan, include 4.5 Km road, 12m long and 6m deep check dam, installation of 43 solar panels, 2 culverts and a tailor training course for female villagers, benefiting 670 rural families in mentioned areas. The total cost of these projects reaches US$56,000 come from MRRD budget. >>> Read more

5117 Rural Families benefit 27 Development Projects in Samangan

Kabul (Monday, 7 April 2008):

with the completion of 27 projects of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) in Dara-e suf-e bala and Dara-e suf-e payan districts of Samangan province 5,117 rural families are provided with deferent needed facilities.

The completed projects in 19 villages of Dara-e suf-e payan district include construction and graveling of 33Km rural road, 23 water reservoirs, 15 water wells, 3 tailor training courses and a solar power project totaling US$718,000 (AFs35,900,000) funded by MRRD and implemented through National Solidarity Program (NSP) of the ministry. These projects provide needed facilities and benefits to 3,840 rural families.

21 Development Projects for 5 Provinces

Kabul(Sunday, March 30, 2008):

With the completion of 15 projects of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) in Paktia, Kabul and Jozjan provinces, providing 6,858 rural families with needed facilities, whereas, construction work of 6 new projects are recently inaugurated in Jozjan, Kabul, Nimroz and Faryab provinces. 

6 completed projects in Paktia province include 2 water supply networks, a check dam, digging of 2 drinking water wells, a dam and a siphon. While 6 projects implemented in Kabul province are rural road projects lengthening 3.6Km, a Kariz, a tailor training course and a canal while, three completed projects in Khamab district of Jozjan include constructio of 3Km road, 70 bridges and a mill. 780 Rural Families Enjoy Healthcare Close to Home

 Kabul (Thursday, March 27, 2008):

The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) with the inauguration of two health clinics in Mirbachakoot and Istalef districts of Kabul province provided 780 rural families with health care in their villages.

These two 10-room clinics totaling US$105,400 (Afs5,270,000) are established in Dako-payan village of Mirbachakoot district and Haji Yusoufkhil of Istalef district through National Solidarity Programme (NSP) of MRRD.

Mohammad Anwar, one of the elders of Haji Yusoufkhil village of Istalef district says: “our village is far from the city, our people and those of nearby villages face many problems taking their patients to cities for treatment. Dehrawut Road Of Urozgan To Asphalt Soon

Kabul (Tuesday, March 25, 2008):

Construction work of 4km road in Dehrawut district of Urozgan province is soon to be inaugurated through National Area Based Development Progamme (NABDP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.

Besides its ongoing development projects in Dehrawut district, the construction of districts road is vitally important in improving the lives of the residents of Dehrawut District.

Engineer Mohammad Hashim, the MRRD director of Urozgan said “the total cost of this project, funded by the government of Netherland, raise up to US$702396 (Afs35119800) and will be completed in 3 months. “Implemented by MRRD engineers and members of Community Development Councils (CDCs), this project will yield benefits for many thousands of district’s residents”, he added.>>> Read more

The Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development signed 9 development project contracts with community development councils in Urozgan province

 Kabul (March 13, 2008):

H.E. Mohammad Ehsan Zia the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development signed 9 development project contracts with community development councils in Urozgan province today. 

These projects are funded by Dutch government and aim to bring wide range of facilities to rural communities in three districts of Dehrawut, Choori and Tarincot benefiting 2922 rural families while generating 8764 working days. The total cost of these projects rise up to US$100,000 and expected to complete within 1-3 months.

At a ceremony held for the signing of these contracts in Urozgan, HE Mohammad Ehsan Zia, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said the maintenance of security is instrumental in reconstruction and implementation of new projects.>>> Read more

The Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development to Sign 19 Development Contracts in Kandahar

 Kabul (March 12, 2008):

HE Mohammad Ehsan Zia the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development signed 19 development contracts worth US$1,649,752 with the private companies in Kandahar province.

These project which are designed to provide needed facilities, respond the socio-economic necessities and improve the quality of life in rural communities and include construction of 2 health clinics, construction of 12.5km road, 2 water supply projects, digging of 4 wells, 3 checkdams, 3 retaining walls and construction of a canal. These projects are planned in 8 districts of Arghandab, Panjwaie, Takhtapul, Zherai, Arghistan, Dand, Marouf, Spinboldak and the capital city of Kandahar province.

These projects are implemented through the ministry’s National Area Based Development Programme NABDP and expected to be completed within 45-285 days.>>> Read more

Power Supply Projects to Enlighten 1110 Houses in 3 Provinces

Kabul (February 20th, 2008):

With the completion of a number of power supply projects including three solar power and cable repairing projects, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development enlightened the houses of 1110 villager in provinces of Maidan Wardak, Nangarhar and Kabul.

The solar power projects include installation of 334 solar panels in 9 villages of Deh-mirdad district in Maidan wardak and Bagh-ha-e bedak village of Guldarah district of Kabul with capacity of producing 28511watt of electricity. Meanwhile, 9000m of electric cable was extended from Darunta hydropower plant to the villages Surkhroad district in Nangarhar. These projects, which responded to electricity shortage problems of 1110 families, cost around USD 178,000 covered by MRRD development budget. >>> Read more
