WatSan
:: Rural Water Supply & Sanitation ::
MRRD has set the goal to provide
over 15 million rural people
with basic services for water
supply (25 litres of safe water
per day per person) and
sanitation facilities over the

at least 100,000 water points
across the country through the
WatSan projects

MISFA
:: Microfinance Investment Support Facility for
Afghansitan ::
MISFA was set up at the
invitation of the Afghan
government - to get donor
coordination right from the
start and avoid the
counter-productive efforts that
have emerged from conflicting

the first facility of its kind,
pooling diverse donor funding
mechanisms and converting them

MRRD Complementary Programmes
SPD
:: Social Protection Department
::
The Social Protection
Directorate of MRRD has been operating within its
structure since the beginning of 1384. It is made of
three main components and an administrative support
unit. They include an Emergency Response Unit, Food
Assistant Unit and Reintegration Unit respectively.
These Units are overseen by the director of the
directorate and supported by the Administration Unit.

National Surveillance System (NSS) project
(funded by the EC - 2003 - 2008) operates a NSS

individuals on rural livelihoods, poverty and
vulnerability and to support the use of this
